Usually mornings, one of the first things I do, after I check on the coffee, is look out the window and get a read on the temperature. It's impossible these days though with all the snow accumulation. Note behind Molly, walking on the table, and out the window, the snow bank is pretty high. It covers the outside thermometer. I'm thinking positive though. The woodstove, cranking in the kitchen, is keeping it warm and toasty, and the small painting, of the Wells' marshes by Yelena under the mirror, has got me thinking July.
By the way, you don't want to know what's falling outside these windows right now.
Yesterday the temperature was warm about 35°F.
Snow was melting a tad.
Today... only about 4 inches added.
Do the math.
Same temperature here. No snow no cat, just the office. Not cosy.
ReplyDeleteAnd you've won something....
Yes! Thank you so much!
DeleteThe room with the cat, the lovely round oak table, and the warmth from the stove must be cozy and serene despite the pile of snow outside. Hope there isn't much flooding in the spring in your area.
ReplyDeleteIt does look cozy on the inside but a glimpse out that window gives me a bit of a shiver.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect scene. It looks so cosy. I probably wouldn't go outside!
ReplyDeleteB- Re. your question about our plans: I put a rather lengthy description of the Writer's group on my post yesterday because of requests for an explanation. You'll find it among the comments, if you are interested.
ReplyDeleteOh but it looks so pretty Birdman, you two look to be snug as bugs in a rug there :)
ReplyDeletekitten cat! brr...
ReplyDeleteThat's a whole lot of snow. Molly looks like a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteA lovely shot! I can't really imagine that much snow around here...
ReplyDeleteOr the other way to deal with the cold and snow is flee. That's what we've done. Today's predicted high in San Diego is 71 degrees with sunshine. Works for me.
ReplyDeleteI admire your good attitude and perseverance! Who needs a thermometer anyway when you can just check the computer? BTW, the horses here are made by a variety of people. But I think the "fad," if it is a fad, is wearing a little thin.
ReplyDeleteYa, we did lighthouse here a few years back. That's over.
DeleteThat is such a perfect pic of 'cozy'!
ReplyDeleteLucky you to have won Ciel's first prize! More snow for us this weekend.
ReplyDeleteCosy as long as the wood stove is crankin'!
ReplyDeleteKeep the stove stoked and life's good. That and a good cup of coffee and you've got a good start to the day. We can talk about cabin fever some other time.
ReplyDeleteIt does look cozy in there!
ReplyDeleteYou sure have had your share of snow! We have a stove in our kitchen too, and it makes winter much more comfortable.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet your kitty wants to go out.
ReplyDeleteTime to curl up with a book at the fireplace
ReplyDeleteWell, on checking the temp, that's why heaven gave us smart phones.
ReplyDeleteI've never experienced anything close to this amount of show. You probably think of it just as part of the annual cycle. If it happened here the whole city would freak out.
Don't you just hate it when the snow is above the window sills?
ReplyDeleteWhoa Dude, too much snow.
ReplyDeleteWhen yiu can see through the window , it's summer and spring . When you can't see through the window because there's too much snow , you know it's winter . Easy math ! :o)
ReplyDeleteYou have my sympathy. Where we live there is about 5 cm, fut inland it is up to 2 m.
ReplyDeleteWOW! 35°! That would be a heat wave here north of Toronto.
