Theme Day: Worker

Today is December 1, 2014 Theme Day across the world-wide CDP (citydailyphotoblog) community. This month's theme is of the worker population. Easy one. Find someone who's working and click away. Here's Mark making his stand. Could be his last stand. I don't really know or pardon me for saying this really, care. Unlike a lot of photo bloggers, unless I know them, they go nameless, anonymous. This guy has a hot dog stand at Tommy's Park in the Old Port. The stand has competition, lots of pushcarts and food trucks in the summer, of course, but even in winter there are always a couple of wagons in the area. Heck, this guy must have a real following. He sells t-shirt, for crying out loud. That's not an expression I use a lot, but it fits here.
Nope, never have sampled his goods.
Don't plan on doing it soon either.
Elenka has taught me a lot about what I put into my body.
Greasy dogs and burgers with cheese, onions and sauerkraut.
Tsk, tsk, tsk...
He's got a fine Christian forename though.
Mark.

  1. "Mark established 1983." He's doing something right if he's lasted that long. Not everyone has an Elenka to keep them eating sensibly.

  5. Elenka is very persuasive but she'd have to twist my arm to wean me away from brats. . .I'm originally from WI for crying out loud. That would be a terrible scarifice. I'd gladly visit your worker.

  6. Everything in moderation hey Birdman, a hotdog every now and then won't kill you... or a Krispy Kreme :)

  7. Even more than the photo itself, which is good, I liked your reflections, and I substantially agree with most of them...

  9. I'm very, very careful about what I buy from street vendors so I think I'd pass on the hot dogs too.

  10. That would be a tough way to make a living. Even if his name is Mark. No hot dogs for me, either.

  11. I rarely post a named person either, the again we don't have street vendors here unless it's a special event. Tshirts and hit dogs, not your usual combo.

  12. Every once in awhile I'll stop for a dog, but not often.

  13. His stand doesn't look too busy. Guess it's early.

    1. It was mid-afternoon. Lunch rush over, I guess. There are plenty of office workers who walk and search out lunch options in the OP.

  14. Let's hope he has work for some time yet.

  15. I always go for the veggie dog! When you put all the dressings on you can't tell the difference. And there is no fat.

  16. I wonder if he eats Hot Dogs for lunch.
